Was invited to Genting again for a mooncake workshop last week where we went learnt how to make mooncakes and tasted practically all the different new flavour! i think it's the fifth time im up there ever since May -.- yeap i got no other place to go T.T went up with the usual gang - Yen Ling, Mokky, and Hu Boon!

Embarrasssingly i was late for about 45 minutes and we had a reckless drive up Genting where 2 of the others had some "unfortunate" incidents >.<

For those who don't know, Genting had a total of 7 million ringgit of sales for mooncake last year alone *pause for your jaw to drop*
This year, the mooncakes promotion will be lasting until the 30th of September, sold at plenty of places like the Lao Di Fang Entrance, Resort Hotel Lobby and many more, you can check from here

our session held at Resorts Cafe Genting
wouldn't be perfect without me, no? =D
Without further ado, let me introduce the new flavours to you lah.
Their most popular mooncake happens to be the Double Yolk Lotus Paste =)

(left) Healthy White Lotus Paste with Spirulina Skin (RM 11.50+)
(right) White Butter Skin with Pandan Sweet Corn Paste Yolk (RM 11.00+)

The Spirulina skin is not a new flavour, but it is very special so i thought it worthy of a mention here. Apparently Genting is giving a focus of healthy products so most of their mooncakes are "healthy", "low sugar", and all halal.

White Butter Skin is new and the skin is totally buttery, although the fillings has a little bit of a bitter after taste. Those who are adventurous and like to taste new flavours should definitely try this *evil grin*

(left) Snow Skin Mango Paste (RM 10.50+)
(right) Snow Skin with Kiwi Fruit Paste (RM 10.50+)

The Snow Skins-only kiwi is the new flavour but the mango paste is my favourite (filled to the brim with the tasty zang of mango, the smell is quite strong too). For the Kiwi Fruit Paste i didn't taste anything like kiwi at all, practically no taste, maybe due to the "healthy low sugar"?

(top) Red Bean Paste (RM 7.80+)
(bottom) Low Sugar White Lotus Paste (RM11.00+)

The Old Regulars (what i call them lah, since they have been around since the forging of the first mooncakes i think) - i'm sure there's no need for me to elaborate on how red beany the red bean paste is, or how lotusy the lotus paste tastes. The mooncakes that we made were White Lotus Paste-flavoured too, i wonder if ours were better? *dreaming*

Green tea Lotus Paste (RM 10.50+)
Green tea is very refreshing! Those who are too full can get this in case you cannot stomach any more mooncakes =)

Money God Cookie! nice name eh?
you can see the Assorted Nuts "Ng Yan" (RM 11.00+) in the background
According to the chef in charge, Chef Gan, the Money God Cookie used to be called Piggy Cookie (hahaha, "Zhu Zai Bing" lah) but because this one was a halal version and they didn't want to give a wrong impression the name was changed to Money God Cookie, well it sounds more auspiscious like this!
