Was invited to Genting again for a mooncake workshop last week where we went learnt how to make mooncakes and tasted practically all the different new flavour! i think it's the fifth time im up there ever since May -.- yeap i got no other place to go T.T went up with the usual gang - Yen Ling, Mokky, and Hu Boon!

Embarrasssingly i was late for about 45 minutes and we had a reckless drive up Genting where 2 of the others had some "unfortunate" incidents >.<

For those who don't know, Genting had a total of 7 million ringgit of sales for mooncake last year alone *pause for your jaw to drop*
This year, the mooncakes promotion will be lasting until the 30th of September, sold at plenty of places like the Lao Di Fang Entrance, Resort Hotel Lobby and many more, you can check from here

our session held at Resorts Cafe Genting
wouldn't be perfect without me, no? =D
Without further ado, let me introduce the new flavours to you lah.
Their most popular mooncake happens to be the Double Yolk Lotus Paste =)

(left) Healthy White Lotus Paste with Spirulina Skin (RM 11.50+)
(right) White Butter Skin with Pandan Sweet Corn Paste Yolk (RM 11.00+)

The Spirulina skin is not a new flavour, but it is very special so i thought it worthy of a mention here. Apparently Genting is giving a focus of healthy products so most of their mooncakes are "healthy", "low sugar", and all halal.

White Butter Skin is new and the skin is totally buttery, although the fillings has a little bit of a bitter after taste. Those who are adventurous and like to taste new flavours should definitely try this *evil grin*

(left) Snow Skin Mango Paste (RM 10.50+)
(right) Snow Skin with Kiwi Fruit Paste (RM 10.50+)

The Snow Skins-only kiwi is the new flavour but the mango paste is my favourite (filled to the brim with the tasty zang of mango, the smell is quite strong too). For the Kiwi Fruit Paste i didn't taste anything like kiwi at all, practically no taste, maybe due to the "healthy low sugar"?

(top) Red Bean Paste (RM 7.80+)
(bottom) Low Sugar White Lotus Paste (RM11.00+)

The Old Regulars (what i call them lah, since they have been around since the forging of the first mooncakes i think) - i'm sure there's no need for me to elaborate on how red beany the red bean paste is, or how lotusy the lotus paste tastes. The mooncakes that we made were White Lotus Paste-flavoured too, i wonder if ours were better? *dreaming*

Green tea Lotus Paste (RM 10.50+)
Green tea is very refreshing! Those who are too full can get this in case you cannot stomach any more mooncakes =)

Money God Cookie! nice name eh?
you can see the Assorted Nuts "Ng Yan" (RM 11.00+) in the background
According to the chef in charge, Chef Gan, the Money God Cookie used to be called Piggy Cookie (hahaha, "Zhu Zai Bing" lah) but because this one was a halal version and they didn't want to give a wrong impression the name was changed to Money God Cookie, well it sounds more auspiscious like this!

Some shots of the workshop below:

MY ice cream dayy

well as im sure everybody knows the last Wednesday (8th of August) was "National BR ice-cream day".

look at the smug look on the man on the right =(
well, technically it's "ice cream hours", since it was from 8-10pm only Xp
so loverboy and i took his little sister Jo out for free ice cream! all so excited, we decided to go to the one in Centrepoint BU since it always looked so secluded and "not many people will go there right?"

from entrance..

..to the outside of Mcd..

..right round Starbucks *jaw drop

THAT'S how wrong we were -.-". the queue went from the entrance of BR itself, right out of the building and back round Starbucks. Horrifying. we didn't even try to make it, we went straight next door for Mcd ice cream Xp

well i guess it also shows how many people supported Dato' Lee Chong Wei in his fight for the gold medal, those who watched the match must've been aware of the free ice cream by BR=ALOT of people were supporting our hero =)

playing while waiting for ice cream!
Jo took this pic i think, not sure Xp

cuuuuuute!

lalala, loverboy
so we did get ice cream in the end, just not from BR, hahaha! well those who got their ice cream from BR i salute you. when we passed by those who were holding the ice cream cups had the "victorious" "WE WIN!" kind of i-am-smug-but-trying-hard-not-to-show-it face. hmmph.

CHEERS!

my INSTAdream wedding

*the pictures in this post will be made up of Instagram pictures!*
*no editing or blurring to give credits to original photographers*

which is why it's named my INSTAdream wedding =)
i believe that it's never too early to start planning for your wedding.
hahaha, that's bulls. i never thought of my wedding until recently, cuz so many people are getting married! like fourfeetnine Audrey and Cheesie soon.

previously the most would be:
"owh i want this dress for my wedding"
"i wanna marry THERE also!"
"i'm going this place for my honeymooooon"

and that's it. kinda normal right?

so after viewing all the awesome pictures on Instagram, i have compiled a list of my own, hehehehe.
hopefully loverboy won't be too shocked or anything, and then run away while it's still early -.-"

wedding reception here! i want a beach wedding so im assuming the beach is somewhere near, hahaha prob behind the tree?

wall of flowers where i will lay out refreshments and champagne! (or coke? hmmm, can't decide which is better Xp)

nice refreshments? strawberries and ice cream!
(i'm assuming it is ice cream)

following this would be the most important part of any wedding: the bridegown!
nice? suitable? can imagine me running around the beaach in this dress? gorgeous isn't it *sigh*
quite suitable for a beach don't you think?

now imagine it whipped all about by the breeze
planned hairstyle for this bridegown, whereas for the dinner it would be all tied up =)

nails and shoes of the morning! the shoes are really really gorgeous just that i don't think that it can be seen through my dress? maybe when i sit down i'll purposely hike my dress up and swing my feet round purposely until people compliment my shoes *psycopath*

dinnergown and hair:

i know the hair is more of a morning do but i'd prefer flowing tresses on the beach - it's much more natural, muahahaha!

wedding flowers! influenced by Love Rain, hehehe
cheap and nice what! <3

my man will be dressed like this:
two hunks-suits are hot, agreed?!

bridesmaids: (two choices, haven't decided yet! well i got at least five more years to decide what -.-)

plain white, or colorful? if its too colorful it'll take the focus off ME, the lady of the day..hmm too bad in Malaysia we don't really do the custom of dressing our bridesmaids in ugly clothes on purpose, too kiasu i think!

wedding invitations! this picture is technically not an invitation, it's just a plain cardboard for a necklace but the design is nice i think, i should ask my friend to design my invitations then hahahhaa =)

CHEERS!

p.s. felt stupider and stupider as i finish up the post. owh well, chins up and thumbs up too! *wink

trekking all about Awana

hehehe! hugging my beloved Kiki (mah shih tzu!) as i type this. he's wrapped in a blanket, another one of our practical jokes =D do all shih tzus have an attitude or is it just mine yea?? have to ask =.=

(just fought him off the keyboard, attention-HOGGER!) so as my post title imposes, this post is about the second day of our MoFe 2.0!
After having breakfast at the World Club Lounge again - yum this time we could properly enjoy the food there, plus i brought loverboy - we had to take the ten thirty bus down to Awana Resort midhill. (not bad we were taught time management too indirectly as we had to take the shuttle ourselves, quite fun, ahhaa!)

THE destination
Once there, our luggage were put on hold and the reason why we were asked to wear t shirts and shorts (basically, lightweight clothing) was exposed --- we were going jungle trekking! almost 2 kilometres if i remember correctly x.x
AND it was going to be a blood-leech-mosquito love triangle. uuurgh.
BUT WE WERE GOING IN PREPARED! (thanks to Watsons, one of our sponsors!)

our very own FIRST AID KIT!
mosquito repelling patches! first time trying one

stick it on! your arms, legs, even jeans or shirts!
by the time we were done all of us looked like some Bersih 1.5 team going into the wood, yellow stickers everywhere, hahahaah!
bersih-like? i hope not! Xp
i even saw someone with it on in a ring around her ankle too, as a precaution against leeches Xp the patches have a strong herb medicine smell, but according to Adam it attracted the leeches >.<
following are the pictures my awesome teammate Rian took with the JV300 Fujifilm camera (mine was left with loverboy when he went to check in! we weren't allowed to sigh)

a longhouse that we passed by before entering the forest!

something you don't see in KL! *CREEPED OUT

see how deep we're in???

After two hours of mentally, physically, and psychologically exhausting trekking (yeap, checking for leeches every ten seconds and plucking them off one by one does that to you), we were OUT!

First thing we did was to sit on the path on the golfcourse, throw down everything you have, and starting checking for leeches AND bandaging the neverending stream of blood from wounds (word of note: next time, bring salt or saltwater).

Accident or not huh??
Picture taken from Hanis' blog!
i can imagine that we looked like a bunch of car crash victims to the one aunty and uncle playing golf, but we DID clap and whistle when they hit the ball! (probably thought we were hooligans x.x)

winning pose after the trek! lovely ladies aren't we =))))
Afterwards was our long-deserved LUNCH! Served at Rajawali Restaurant in the resort itself , hehe!
i guess most of us just sank to the seats in exhaustion and numbness.

beautiful view, though!
enjoying my Alice in Wonderland lunch

all the cakes and jellies! yum!
Mr No-Way!
last challenge before we set off for absailing
Another round of walking up the same path to the activity center where we would go for absailing *terrified, i mean i DID do all these in high school lah, but it has been so long! *knees trembling and squeaking

the emperor and empress of Absailing Land
they laid it out so nicely for us!
how come in high school camp don't have wan
spot me sexily checking my harness *ahem ahem
The key is to have the harness tight around your waist and hips so that you will be snugly harnessed for maximum gliding impact and minimum accident rate (i made that up)

that's me inching down slowly =D
The challenge was to get down ASAP and the fastest team wins! by this time we were all too jaded to really compete so the best of us merely took out own sweet time. Hear that, Mr Kiasu-Adam?? *wink

Lastly again, BEFORE we were allowed to check out, we had to post or twit or blog about the day's events! everybody just posted a picture on Facebook cuz they were too tired x.x x.x x.x

Mokky summore go pose nicely here, not tired ah?

Hanis and moi =)

the Yes huddle loaned to us again! Thanks to Yes 4g
my rooooom! my beautiful, beautiful, ROOOOM!! finally!
but i only got to enjoy the suite for a little while, just to bathe and then let loverboy bandage my FIVE leech wounds that wouldn't stop bleeding x.x even the bandage itself was covered with crusting blood already by the time i got back.

lovely kitchen and living area!

you can peek into mah rooooom <3
i just LOVE their designs, gonna have it ncorporated into my dream house! literally DREAM house, cause i dreamt of it one night and it was so clear (it has glass corridors upstairs so i can watch my future kids if they suddenly go sleep walking!)

After the hour or so of preparation for dinner, we were dressed again in our Wrangler tee and jeans! (i.m staring right at the paperbag now btw in my room)
Dinner at Pasar Ikan Bakar past the longhouse at Awana, if you want to replicate this experience, remember to call ahead and book in advance! like the name hints, they serve grilled fish and a variety of meats =D

comfy Arabian-like theme for dinner!
everyone having a great time

see? it can be comfy and classy at the same time *astounded
from left: Mr No-Way, Ms. Seriously, me

and the closing ceremony starts on a good pitch!

me and Rian receiving our certs and vouchers =D

lalalalala <3

this is us jumping! hehhee, too bad babycam can't capture

Mokky the lovely who took me in for awhile
that night <3
Mr Hu Boon! guess how old he is

CHEERS!
A list of all our sponsors: Wrangler, Crocs, Kinderdljk, yes, Travel for all, Fujifilm, Watsons, and Genting!
a huge thank you =D

P.S. just finished the book "I've got your Number" by Sophie Kinsella, thought that it would be a trashy chick lit, but it was really good! heart-warming and lovely, read it! <3
