not you guys of course! |
so i decided to "dedicate" one post on theme park ethics, or more specifically what to do and what not to do in theme park, from what i observed those few hours in the outdoor theme park, hehe =)
1. when me and sistah Charis were queueing up for various rides like the "cockscrew" or the "pirate ride", we observed (or more to the point, FELT) the people queueing up behind us.
how we felt |
me and sistah Charis are not the touchy-feely kind of people and usually we need about 3 feet of personal space between us and others, so in theme parks of course we understand that others might not be so accommodating with our personal space, so we don't mind - but we DID NOT expect this!!!
actual distance |
no names calling, the particular bunch of men was not even queueing up behind us -.-
they were sliding along the rails (can't you guys even stand upright to wait -.-) while for every few millimetres that we inched forward, they slid further along behind us for a few centimetres.
we could even feel them on our backs!!
the same thing happened for the pirate ride, which we were taking with fellow bloggers and nuffnang "tour guides", so me and charis *brilliant idea*-ed and scooted to be the ones in between, all the while watching for the facial expressions of the nuffnang-er (I'll just call him Mr Nuffnang for all our sakes eh?) behind us.
sure enough when we inched forward Mr Nuffnang firstly gave an "OOOF!" face, and then followed by surprise and replaced swiftly by resignation. so freaking funny!
turned out the lady behind him was pushing him all the way.
i mean come on lahh, this is not the KTM where all of us can squeeze and huff and puff into one carriage, this is a ride where certain spaces are allocated..pushing is not gonna help either of us! *shakes head*
i prefer this
preferred distance |
2. i find that we Malaysians are rather friendly people, we LOVE to take pictures and we don't even mind taking pictures for others when they want a group photo taken.
sometimes, when we see others taking a photo, we will even stop as not to photobomb others. we patiently wait till the person is done with everything, only we move when the coast is clear.
HOWEVER, sometimes there are certain places or times where picture-taking are not so welcome.
on one of the roads we observed a man trying to take a photo of his friend (or family) with the background inside, meaning he has to move backwards as to fit everything in the picture.
take note that the particular road was full of hustle-and-bustle right in the middle of the afternoon.
how we felt |
maybe he thinks that it's a challenge for him, to win a Guinness record or something if he manages to get the whole crowd to stop while he takes his pictures -.-, therefore causing a mssive jam of people jostling around wondering what's the big deal upfront.
wait lah for the road to clear, or find somewhere with less people at the corner to take your photo!
3. the ride that i enjoyed the most was boat riding!
sistah's legs! ahhaha |
you know, the kind of boat where you paddle yourself and can manoeuvre (slightly) with a level in the centre of the boat. i find it challenging, not the manoeuvring part, oh nooooo.
but the dodging part.
okay i do understand that some kids (or quite a few adults) don't really know how to control the boat, but don't bother others with your klutziness by banging into others (the bumper boats are in the next station, wrong ride lahh). STOP paddling when you're about to hit another boat!
so what i did was to play dodgeboat.
the rules are easy, don't get hit by another boat!!
level 343432513 PASSED |
by the end of it i felt like an F1 racer already
so far there are only 3 i can think of, any more ethics that you think theme park riders should have?
p.s. just came back from Twin's concert in Genting! free tix sponsored by Nuffnang *sniggers* WEE!
cheers.
