SKYFALL

Cars ramming into each other, a fight on a running train, dead bodies, and last but not least the high adrenaline rush coursing through each and everyone of the audience-then Bond got shot and Moneypenny announced "agent down"; THAT'S how they introduced the all new Bond movie Skyfall.

did you know he's the shortest ever Bond amongst the Bonds?

Went for the premiere screening last night, and i am quite impressed by the movie (non-Bond fan speaking here), i think it's one of the movies that i actually enjoyed, since movies these days just give off the B grade movies kinda feeling.

After that then we were treated to the all new song "Skyfall" by Adele (quite luv-ley, by the way) through the opening credits, which incidentally, i thought was quite dragged out (do they need a whole solid two minutes just for the openings?)

okay la she's an awesome singer la
Other than that the movie was quite awesome, hehehe, the only thing i didn't want was for the old grounds keeper for Bond's old family home to die--HE DIDN'T! muahahaha, i don't know why, i just have a "soft spot" for him =D

told ja he's cute

Oh and the new Q was quite dashing too, reminds me of Andrew Garfield in a tall lanky geeky kind of way-must be the Brit-ness of it all, hehe!

What i like about this movie is that it is quite classic, using the classic James Bond music throughout the movie, and emphasizing on that the old is better "teach an old dog new tricks", "from the shadows", and also the whole chaos about M resigning.

So, my verdict? go and watch it! even if just to catch a glance of the Aston Martin DB5, the classic car of James Bond Xp

antipodean-the place for expats!

went to this restaurant a couple of months back (when i still had short hair =/) and only thought of it again when i heard Phui Loo talking about it, hehe!

oops i totally forgot bout it
Antipodean cafe, a place that has gotten 4 out of 5 stars in timeoutkl, and one of the "happening" places in town (a couple of months back? not sure how popular it is now). it's right in Bangsar, within walking distance from Bangsar shopping Center, so you might want to park there instead and walk over as it is nigh impossible to find a parking at the ingested place!

Let's have a look at the interior, shall we?

smooth black polished tables decorated with bloomers
i have a fixation for flowers and candles on the tabletop. i just think that it's sooooooo romantic when there's flowers on tables (but not roses, i hate roses), and candles during dinnertime *fantasizing*

chatty atmosphere backed up with scribbles of menu on the wall

shiny wooden counter with baristas ready to serve your
order piping hot

and i almost overlooked this--
a playroom for active kids!
Could see quite a few expats hanging around either with their backpacks or just lounging around while surfing their laptops, gives off quite a "Starbucks-but-with-a-hint-of-foreignness" feel.

me flashing my dimples excessively for
maximum cuteness ratio, pffft
Since we were seated quite some distance from the menu (blocked by some part of the wall) we had to walk over to stand in front of the wall and decide what to order -.- i take quite awhile to ponder *fickle-minded* so it's kinda awkward standing there -.-"
yes it's cool to write on the walls but don't trouble us patrons la haiyo.

loverboy had coffee only, ewww

my awesome wholeness breakfast!
mushrooms, toast, scrambles, and oh my fav bacon

sayyyy CHEEESEEEEE

focusing 100% on my food, im like that hahaha

didn't really like the mushrooms (piled them excessively on toast and shoved it to my man) but the rest wa quite good and the serving hugeeeeeee. wouldn't want to come just for it in the future though, once is enough unless heading there to hang out with the girls lah.

banyak award ni!

a more recent photo-CHEERS!
p.s. want to try drcafe next, it's popping up around here and i found it in November's Cleo, hmmm, the packaging is an obvious remake of Starbucks though?

For the one who understands me most

nope it wasn't yesterday, or last week, or the week before..it was last month *pause for a moment of shamefulness XD

me one true love <3 hehe
This post is dedicated to, and will be revolving around FIONA--her birthday was last month as well, as September babies we find that we sometimes think alike and understand each other better compared to other horoscopes, haha! horoscope-ism, hehehe

nicely decorated "throne" for the birthday girl! <3

PRE-PARTY:
Preparations started wayyyyyy before the big day itself--the birthday girl herself saying that her previous birthdays are not as awesome, so we thought, why not make it BIG and let her go giddy with happiness??
SO sue took charge of planning, Phui Loo oversaw everything, I was in charge of planning games and Pearle baked super red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting as the birthday cake!

preparing for the birthday!
The previous night Fiona and me had a sleepover at Pearle's place because we wanted to bake the cupcakes together Xp wow making the cream cheese was so hard; good thing we had another friend over (Gene) and she was good with this baking stuff, hehe! So without further ado, let's have a look at the finished product!

Dang-Dang---dang-dang

THE PARTY ITSELF:
needless to say we were a rowdy bunch and at The Bee the owner gave us free use of the whole interior of the restaurant (other patrons had to sit outside HAR-DI-HA-HA); obviously we made full use of it! a corner for the throne, a corner for the guest book, a corner for chit-chatting and the tables all joined together for a looooong dinner table XD

signing the card when you arrive (guest book)
all 25 of us at a table!

some pictures we took:

jeremy, david, loverboy (covered by my pout)

here you get your chance la <3

Double PL

Birthday girl, me and Phui Loo <3
they look gorgeousssssss
all us pretty girls!
sue busy with bf n blowing balloons, not here =/
aaaaaand for entertainment this fella called Steven got up to present a song (he brought his guitar along to parrrrtayyy) "Happy Birthday" the song was called--he wrote, sang, and played the song himself! *not badddd*

Steven: "who?? ME, sing??!"
(pretending to be paiseh first, Malaysian style)

being emo while Fiona wonders when he will start singing
Lastly, the birthday girl blew the candles on her improvised birthday "cake" and then rowdiness continued until one by one the guests left XD

"Fuuuhhhhhh"
Hope you had an awesome one Fiona, i'm sure you had alot of fun--next year's will be able to surpass this i hope? *cold sweat* haha, <3!
Cheers for all who came <3
