Yesterday, with storybook characters and Despicable Me 2 Minions

If I had to write a children's storybook, it'd probably be about 3 characters called Drunkard, Kiasu, and Conman.

Because it just so happens that I met them yesterday -.-
OH well, I guess that when people become successful (or anywhere within the confines of that-which they decide themselves) they become piping full of confidence, to the extend where people might find them obnoxious.

Drunkard would be an old hag with braying bursts of laughter and poisonous bits of comments every now and then.
"You fart like a monstrous truck.AHAHAH, joking, onlyy!"

Kiasu would be French-speaking without the fluency, but still brilliantly good at using it to promote his talents, "moi is esplendide et being kiasu!"

"GRAAAAABBBB!!" *kiasu-ness to the max

Conman will insist that he's a Brit while spouting English like a "Made in China" teapot.

"oh I definitely AM from Google, even though
they don't dress like this"

It'll probably be best-selling the moment it hits the bookshelves muahaha.

Anyways, mean spirit aside, I went to the screening for Despicable Me 2 last night! (courtesy of Nuffnang, of which I will be forever grateful, of course) My first screening in a long, long, time especially after my four months of back-breaking Final Year Project stressload. =) =) =)

tralalalala! You got anottttt

Nowadays it just feels like the animated movies (or cartoons) are getting more and more shallow. What I want is simple: Make me CRY! make me FEEEL for the characters! Make my poor heart BREAK and REJOICE with the heroes! (Game of thrones did that sure fine)

The last one to make me FEEL must have been "UP". =/

Sooooo, Despicable Me 2's dried-up-plot was made from juice squished out from what's leftover from Gru in Despicable Me, and mostly from the minions. Something stolen, wanted back, Gru is involved, throw in some romance with a manic-depressive girl, and DO include, a whoooole load of scenes from minions because they were so popular in the first one. Towards the end I kind-of forgot what's the movie and hoo-hah about because it was soooo centered around the minions, and "oh yeaa hor it's about the stolen serum!" Or maybe it's just my short-term memory.

Wouldn't watch it twice, toodle-dah!

I want to dye my hair in bright colors! the fight between black hair and colored hair has ended and colors have proven the winner because everyone else in Malaysia has black hair =/

This color looks great:

But it'll look better with a shade more red? Looks nice to me right now though.
Ponderingly,
CHEERS!

Rise of the Guardians!

got freeeeeee (ahhh, don't you love the word "free") tickets to the screening of "Rise of the Guardians", which i have been itching and hopping around waiting to watch it ever since i saw the trailer a few months ago! it really seems awesome and my kind of movie where you explicitly know that there WILL be a good ending--i can't sleep well after watching a movie with bad ending =/

soooooooo, Rise of the Guardians, ehh?
oops damn blur picture
anyways i think that it's really really Christmassy, you might want to save it for Christmas? typical movie lah  where good guys bad up, bad guy turns up, good guys lose but win at the end. Father Christmas somehow reminds me of the chief of the village in How to Train Your Dragon, right up to the accent, while the little elfs are similar to the ones in Despicable Me, hmm..Having a problem with originality already? We're doomed.

There are plenty of comedy in this movie, and with Father Christmas portraying a more dangerous and fierce man compared to the previous jolly old fat common version, so it's kind of a fresh new take--my verdict? Go watch it!

My favorite character so far happens to be Easter Bunny!is that typical of me?

Not until the credits were rolling that i found out Hugh Jackman voiced Easter Bunny, must be why he's so alluring and hypnotizing (*sighhh). At the end they even show him as a cute little bunny when he loses his power, hehe! couldn't find any pics of the cute version online though (online meaning Google images lah!) they must be really keeping a lid on the pics before it cinemas start playing the movie.

OOTD! still not sure whether the shoes
goes with my dress Xp
Been churning out assignments and presentations so much that i feel like a photostat maching or a printer right now, *beep beep beep* *thud* another work of mine is churned out! hahah waiting for the holidays right now. CHEERS!

SKYFALL

Cars ramming into each other, a fight on a running train, dead bodies, and last but not least the high adrenaline rush coursing through each and everyone of the audience-then Bond got shot and Moneypenny announced "agent down"; THAT'S how they introduced the all new Bond movie Skyfall.

did you know he's the shortest ever Bond amongst the Bonds?

Went for the premiere screening last night, and i am quite impressed by the movie (non-Bond fan speaking here), i think it's one of the movies that i actually enjoyed, since movies these days just give off the B grade movies kinda feeling.

After that then we were treated to the all new song "Skyfall" by Adele (quite luv-ley, by the way) through the opening credits, which incidentally, i thought was quite dragged out (do they need a whole solid two minutes just for the openings?)

okay la she's an awesome singer la
Other than that the movie was quite awesome, hehehe, the only thing i didn't want was for the old grounds keeper for Bond's old family home to die--HE DIDN'T! muahahaha, i don't know why, i just have a "soft spot" for him =D

told ja he's cute

Oh and the new Q was quite dashing too, reminds me of Andrew Garfield in a tall lanky geeky kind of way-must be the Brit-ness of it all, hehe!

What i like about this movie is that it is quite classic, using the classic James Bond music throughout the movie, and emphasizing on that the old is better "teach an old dog new tricks", "from the shadows", and also the whole chaos about M resigning.

So, my verdict? go and watch it! even if just to catch a glance of the Aston Martin DB5, the classic car of James Bond Xp

Screening of the Cold Light of Day!

even thought the movie is not officially released till tonight or tomorrow, alot of people has already watched the movie -.-"

anyways last night i got tickets to the screening of the movie, "The Cold Light of Day" and in one sentence, the movie is so-so and only redeemed by the appearance of Bruce Willis. just too bad the movie is not that good.

i'm not going to be a spoiler and provide a step by step replay of the whole movie, you guys can go and watch it for yourself! =)

maybe it's just because i watched the Bourne Legacy a few weeks ago, but i feel that the Bourne is so much better than Cold Light! in Bourne the action is so packed that at the end of the movie i was still waiting for something to happen Xp

In the Cold Light of Day there are a few scenes that doesn't make sense, like for example how did Bruce Willis suddenly appear just after Henry Cavill just found out his family got missing -.-" i mean, how did he know which tree his son was going to bang into.

On her part Sigourney Weaver played the antagonist perfectly la giving me chills everytime she kills people so calmly *cold sweat

well my final verdict is that okay la can watch la! hehehe, since there's not much movies nowadays =/

lastly an ootd picture of me! =D

Trying out Sephora's drawer make up that i got as a birthday present! hehehe i feel that i don't really put on make up often enough la, feel more girly when i put on make up <3 <3
going for a Dr Murad workshop this Saturday, anyone else going??

SADAKO! in threeeeeee D

coming to get you!
dang, dang, dang, DANG! Scary movie on the prowl! once you watch this movie, you might NEVER think the same of your computer or cellphone screen again Xp

apparently in Japan they are so hung up about promoting this movie that the production came up with this idea of a "real" Sadako crawling the streets of Tokyo *the horror!*

lorry carting the "sadako"-imagine it at Bukit Bintang, eh?

So on Monday i spent the whole day in Paradigm Mall spending the day with my girls and after that the Sadako 3D movie screening with Mokky! She's now officially one of my blogger buddies already, we're like THIS now:

we're best buds yo!
hahaha! so for once cuz Mokky was excited about this movie (she's a horror movie junkie *horror of horrors) so we went to line up early and selca some =)

see she got the "im so excited oh-em-gee" face

okay so let's talk about the movie: no doubt there are a few scenes that are awfully scary like the part where the hand comes out of nowhere (beware the 3D) and grabs the poor unsuspecting victims, after awhile you get kinda bored of the hand and the long long hair awkwardly climbing out of the computer. i mean, there were even a few scenes where the most of us laughed out loud cuz the scary parts became funny =/

However, there IS a suspense and the story unfolding inch by inch lah so at the end you'll be like nodding and saying "OOOOHHH, so that's how it came to be".

All in all, not quite worth the money you invest =/ unless it's RM6 and you're looking for a cheapie horror film to get a few cheapie scares!

pic of us girls! so long since we took a shot of the 5 of us

Brave and Amazing Spiderman!

nope this post is not about the brave and amazing spiderman.

it's about BRAVE and THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN!
Gotcha!

Ahahaha. so anyways i had the honor of going to both the movie premiers of Brave and The Amazing Spiderman both last Monday (at the Curve) and this Monday (at Sunway Pyramid), courtesy of Nuffnang. Craaaazy giler i was so excited to go to both, imagine the luck to get both tickets free! <3

Actually i'm a little bit unfair. i looked forward to watch Brave much more than Spiderman. HAH. it's just something i won because DUDE wanted to watch it so much, hehe.

i was already enthralled by the trailer for Brave when it just came out the beginning of this year, and i can say that i was not disappointed to wait this long!
i just loooooved the folksongs in the movie and the short story prior to Brave was very cute though! (Spoiler alert: it was a story on how the moon moved from various stages from being round to crescent and all over again, hehe! very creative! )

Basically as most of you who read newspapers should know by know, this movie is about the differences between a mother and daughter, how it drove them apart, and how they ended up understanding each other more at the end.

loved these 3 little bears, they looked cuter in bear-form

the only thing i didn't like about the movie was that it was too SHORT! i want moreeeeeeeeeeeee!
and my friend Joseph was all "the accent sounded Indian".

Next up, The Amazing Spiderman. It's not out yet! *grinsss*

the portrayal of a geeky gawky teenage kid by Andrew Garfield was extremely believable, but Emma Stone was, well, too matured. DUDE kept saying that she looked more like Peter Parker's teacher or something. mmmm, sexy huh? teacher-student relationship, haha!

okay okay other than her dressing (well im a girl, i look at her clothes! which was extremely sexy btw-long socks, heels, and miniskirt) the movie was kind of awesome. kind of being i don't really like this kind of movie. the Avengers was fine though!

sexy?

Well the end of the story was a little bit heart-breaking though. Peter had to give up on Gwen because he promised her father to do so before he died a sad death. *sigh* i prefer Peter with Gwen, don't you think they look much more better together?

Cheers.

P.S. massively exhausted-just finished a long-winded presentation yesterday and a diagnosis case study just now. uuurgh. Bipolar. uuurgh.
P.P.S. and the whole drama about Kiki, my adorable king of my life last weekend. it's all here!

up in the hills and far far away...with nuffnang

last week, sistah Charis asked me whether i wanted to be her +1 for a charity movie screening up at Genting on Friday the 1st of June, also the International Children's Day.

well i hesitated a lil bit at first since we would be going up with a bunch of strangers and going through alot of activities with a bunch of strangers, but then i decided, YOLO, why the hell not!

cert we all got from genting!
this charity screening was organized both by nuffnang and the genting PR team with a few people from Starbucks as well.

what was included?
Free transport (both ways) + Breakfast + MIB3 screening in 3D + Lunch + Theme park tickets
(syoook!)

So at 7.30am in the morning, me and Charis found ourselves trudging out the car into Wisma Genting and meeting up with the Nuffnang peeps and other bloggers.
we were the first! (well other than the Nuffnang "tour guides" one of which was Anne)

when everybody came up the hill we went! not singing merrily though, ehehe. most of us slept all the way up Genting, i think.

we finally reached at 9-ish in the morning, the weather was soooo COLD! Fog! Strong wind! Chill through Your Bones! we quickly scurried into the warmth (sort of) at the First World lobby and the representative from Genting's team saved us from starving.

lobby was decorated ala candylicious + chocolicious style

breakfast! (cold) hot chocolate and bluberry + banana muffins from Starbucks

met YinYin, photography and food blogger
after breakfast, we were ushered into the movie theatre for the ultimate movie "Men In Black 3", in 3D!!

before the movie!
selca with Will Smith aka Agent J
selca with sistah <3

my first time watching movies in 3D, i was always put off by my friends who told me it wasn't worth it/ it gave them headaches/ not much difference, and i am proud to announce that all of those didn't apply to me.

it gave an interesting addition to what normally would be a flat screen movie with the layers and the focus given to what we should notice, so day dreamers who sometimes find themselves looking at the background while the movies play would not miss out on the dramas now! (like me)

lunch was provided ala buffet style

spaghetti that took ages to be done

yoghurt baked chicken! didn't taste the yoghurt though

salad my style Xp

where we also gave gifts to the children afterwards

the last few hours were spent in the themepark!
too bad it was kinda crowded as it was a school holiday and a weekend, we had to line up about 30 to 45 mins per ride, so me and sistah only went on the Cockscrew, the scary pirate ride (not scary at all!), and lastly the boat riding in the lake =)

worth RM114 each
see?? my twin!

the not-so-scary-after-all cockscrew

in the middle of the windy lake, it is loves!

as usual, sistah Charis and me fielded questions and comments like,

"are you twins?"

"how old are you two?"

"you guys look SO alike!"

so one of the Nuffnag-ers told me and sistah that there was a competition running under Nuffnang titled "Rock Out Twice As Hard With Twins, Live in Malaysia", where you simply find someone who looks like you and take a pic to wins tickets to their concert plus one night's free accomodation!

Check out my sistah's post about it <3

at the end of the day, we came down from far far away exhausted but exhilarated from our stint up the cold windy hill of Genting.

cheers!
