Yesterday, with storybook characters and Despicable Me 2 Minions

If I had to write a children's storybook, it'd probably be about 3 characters called Drunkard, Kiasu, and Conman.

Because it just so happens that I met them yesterday -.-
OH well, I guess that when people become successful (or anywhere within the confines of that-which they decide themselves) they become piping full of confidence, to the extend where people might find them obnoxious.

Drunkard would be an old hag with braying bursts of laughter and poisonous bits of comments every now and then.
"You fart like a monstrous truck.AHAHAH, joking, onlyy!"

Kiasu would be French-speaking without the fluency, but still brilliantly good at using it to promote his talents, "moi is esplendide et being kiasu!"

"GRAAAAABBBB!!" *kiasu-ness to the max

Conman will insist that he's a Brit while spouting English like a "Made in China" teapot.

"oh I definitely AM from Google, even though
they don't dress like this"

It'll probably be best-selling the moment it hits the bookshelves muahaha.

Anyways, mean spirit aside, I went to the screening for Despicable Me 2 last night! (courtesy of Nuffnang, of which I will be forever grateful, of course) My first screening in a long, long, time especially after my four months of back-breaking Final Year Project stressload. =) =) =)

tralalalala! You got anottttt

Nowadays it just feels like the animated movies (or cartoons) are getting more and more shallow. What I want is simple: Make me CRY! make me FEEEL for the characters! Make my poor heart BREAK and REJOICE with the heroes! (Game of thrones did that sure fine)

The last one to make me FEEL must have been "UP". =/

Sooooo, Despicable Me 2's dried-up-plot was made from juice squished out from what's leftover from Gru in Despicable Me, and mostly from the minions. Something stolen, wanted back, Gru is involved, throw in some romance with a manic-depressive girl, and DO include, a whoooole load of scenes from minions because they were so popular in the first one. Towards the end I kind-of forgot what's the movie and hoo-hah about because it was soooo centered around the minions, and "oh yeaa hor it's about the stolen serum!" Or maybe it's just my short-term memory.

Wouldn't watch it twice, toodle-dah!

I want to dye my hair in bright colors! the fight between black hair and colored hair has ended and colors have proven the winner because everyone else in Malaysia has black hair =/

This color looks great:

But it'll look better with a shade more red? Looks nice to me right now though.
Ponderingly,
CHEERS!

Have It Your Way

Before I start, have you ever noticed that when Malaysians are driving, they have a penchant for digging their noses?

Start thinking: Do you dig your nose?
No? Think about it. And while you're at that, do notice the moment when your finger suddenly goes up to your nose. pause. stare at your finger for a few seconds (but not so much that accidents happen). Look around shiftily in case somebody saw. And lastly, shove your finger back to the steering wheel, where it belongs.

WELL, I have seen lots of drivers doing that. (Most likely because I'm always the passenger, nobody likes me driving *sigh). Ladies, knights, honorable men, squires, and even people who drive me when I'm in the car; they don't notice that they tend to do it -.- (have been watching Game of Thrones lately)

Anyways, I digress. back to the post. Does the slogan "Have it your way" look familiar?

YEAP. Burger King's. and NO, I did not have it my way -.- uuurgh.

Noticed that Burger King (BK) was putting up billboards saying that their breakfast starts at RM 3.95 (Hey! 5 cents cheaper than McD!) So I went and tried it out this morning.

Mediocre

Mediocre, though loverboy did say that the hashbrown's better

Disappointing. First off, it is NOT RM 3.95. It's RM7-9, more dear than McD's lunch promos. Second off, no receipts. I can't even complain to BK that i got ripped off by their cheapo lying billboards. Third off. I paid extra RM1 to upgrade my coffee into Nesle Dolce's Hot Chocolate, and I got this:

This is just colored water. None of the chocolate taste I paid extra RM1 for, no milk, no foam, nothing at all. I might as well just pay for hot water -.- This was the thing that especially got me mad, partly because i pretty much love hot chocolate and Milo <3

Got ripped off by Burger King. -.- People, Don't go okay.

Ended up at Starbucks cuz I had to please my taste buds by giving them the real thing.

To end on a happier note, I have to give you balloons. Who doesn't just LOVE balloons? <3
Cheers.

After Earth vs Now You See Me

After Earth has Jaden and Will Smith. Now You See Me owns it with Hulk from Avengers. (when I was watching the movie I half expected him to turn into the huge green monster anytime because he was just...SO angry all the time hahaha)

After Earth: 0
NYSM: 1

After Earth involves human race 1000 years from now, where people talk to each other civilly and calls each other names la Senshi and Faia; Now You See Me portrays us currently at our best-cheating, robbing, and being so rude all the time (Special Agent Doyle to his French Interpol partner; the Four Horsemen to each other), do we need to be kicked off Earth and wait a millenium to learn manners? -.-

After Earth: 1
NYSM: 1

After Earth has basically no plot but is so pumped full of adventures that you don't notice the difference; Now You See Me has loopholes in their story: making "the Hulk" the mastermind behind the whole scheme without any hints prior that is just like saying that Daniel Humprey is Gossip Girl, you get me?

After Earth: 2
NYSM: 1

ALSO, in After Earth the most touching part for me was when the "eagle" died to protect "jaden" (forgot his character name in the movie hehe); in Now You See Me....err, I don't think there was any? Although the ending DID come as a shock and that's it.

After Earth: 3
NYSM: 1

Okayyyy, so After Earth wins! Even though both movies felt the same to me actually, but logic says that After Earth is the winner so must be fair lo, what to do.

That's it for now, my shoulder hurts from filing all day yesterday and today, have to eat back my words the moment I blogged about not doing usual intern stuff -.- the boss was away so we had nothing to do so it was filing and tidyin the office, aiyo!

Cheers, I guess?

Bumbling post

This post will just be a regular, but messy and bumbling update of what's happening so far :)

Well, I mentioned before that I'm doing my internship right now, two more months to go before another one looms up in August! Kinda went off the rails as my current intern has nothing whatsoever to do with my major ahaha (architecture vs psychology), but I decided to venture into the "path less known" as illustrated by Robert Frost in "The Road Not Taken" (high school, anyone?) *proud

"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both"

SO for those who wants to know how an internship feels like, doing one in a small firm definitely has greater returns la, hehe. So far I have done no coffee/tea making, photocopying, or the other lame stuff an intern does in a huge firm.

"Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear"

On the other hand, I HAVE-learnt Autocad, went out for (super awesome) lunches with clients, examined sites a couple of times, so life is interesting to say the least.

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

There are cons too, patches of time where I don't have anything to do (It rhymes!) What to do, I'm a fast learner and do-er HOHO so I squeeze the Internet until I make NetJuice.

Braided my hair for Phui Loo's birthday last Wednesday. Last year's celebration is blogged about here

Bad photo quality, oops

Braided the sides of my head and rolled up the back
necklace from Roses Cart

Almost took my arm off trying to braid my hair, but then the satisfaction after achieving it is indescribable (HAH! I DID IT). Dinner by the way was at Kokopelli off Dataran Three 2, so-so lahh. Nothing to shout about :/

oh although the plain water there costs an arm and a leg for the amount served -.- Felt justified to steal the bottle since it cost so much but it couldn't fit into my clutch or else there'll be a picture of my new glass bottle here already in the empty space below:

(XXXXXXXXX)
space for picture of non-acquired glass water bottle

Going back into the life of a renter, at least until my intern ends, so I am going to miss my walk-in wardrobe :( bye-bye! Next time my house must have, including glass corridors upstairs so I can see down (refer to super old post of dream house from a dream)---P.s. I can't find the post, now I'm wondering whether I did post it or not hahaha. maybe it was in the dream too that I blogged.

bye-bye super blur pic of my fav room

Lastly, June is the month of being broke. Everybody's birthdays are in June, including my sister Charis and 3 besties, sigh!

Want to backpack travel to Europe, must start saving money to make it possible! Those kind of travel that is without itinerary wan, where you can stand at a train timetable board and decide where to go based on nothing more than "just cuz I felt like it" <3 but I don't want to travel with a boyfriend/future husband using their money cuz then I won't feel like the trip belonged to ME. Weird huh? Must work work work.

Sui Ta Bo Eddie made a rose for me *contented

Was going through my old posts and I found that my writing style degraded and disintegrated already -.- Last time it used to be rather full of life and now it's rather drab. I'm blaming it all on the Final Year Project/Senior Project from Spring this year----it killed my writing, hmmph.

Lastly, a picture of the furriest love of my life,

Cheers!

The prominent arrival of ordered items from Roses Cart of course leads to a picture-by-picture account and dissection of their stock.

So....I welcome you to--a premium photoshoot of Roses Cart items:

Some previews to get you excited:

And,
off we go!

neon yellow transparent clutch/sling bag at RM24, other colors available

can fit your smartphone and camera snugly
spiked bracelet (as above) at RM11
Some problems faced when dealing with pre-ordered items is that it comes slightly off shape or off color? I'm sure plenty of us have at one time or another felt that what we ordered looked totally different from the picture provided, although the spiked bracelet did look abit different but for Roses Cart I think that so far it's alright.

The admin told me that she would let me know if the items I ordered were not that good of a quality so that I can know in advance, so that's a plus for customer service :)

Flower print carry-all at RM50

Claw bangle at RM10, gold/silver available
My favorite of the bunch included this carry-all, the quality is extremely good and it felt thick and strong <3

YSL gold chain at RM29, gold/silver available

Another favorite of the bunch: the YSL necklace.
You can wear it formal or casually, adds a little bit of elegance and class to the drab t-shirt that I was wearing there. You can also wear it if you want to pose as a mafia boss lol.

DO remember to get your 15% of discount! only valid till 14th of August 2013, Just FB message Roses Cart and mention "Missailing" with a screenshot of this discount bar code :)

Done with the photoshoot!

And I look abit off here I don't know why
Cheers!

Review of Skincerity

Alright I'll just tell you up front. Skincerity is under Nucerity, what I and alot of people call a "MLM" (multi-level marketing) company.

I'm NOT a member of Nucerity though, so I will be blogging this review unbiased and with no motive.

I got this product through my uncle, who is also NOT a member but he was asking around for products that could help my skin as he knew that I was having problems. (What a sweet uncle T.T I'm so blessed)

So he got this product from a friend who was a member and claimed that this helped his bad skin turn about from worse than mine to quite alright now. When he FB messaged me to tell me about Skincerity I think he didn't know the product well enough also, he said that it was "some magic thing lah" lol.

So anyways I got this product from him on the 19th of April when I did my Senior Project presentation and took some pictures of my skin on the 19th of May, a bit more than a week ago.

before, with makeup but absolutely no foundation
Before (19th April 2013)
After one month, with absolutely no makeup x.x

After, close-up (19th May 2013)
I guess the acne-scars ARE lightened somewhat? Loverboy mentioned that my skin became smoother already, and it couldn't be because of Acne.org (read about it here) because Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5 doesn't smoothen the skin. Hey, the magic worked then! Please work faster >.<

How does it work then? Well, as the box said it was a "nightly breathable masque", so you just roll it all over your face before you sleep. The product comes in a deodorant shaped glass bottle, just use it like a deodorant! Except that you don't use it on your armpits okay lol. It rolls on transparent colored like a peeling mask, and you either wipe it off with the special cloth given with the box, or wash it away with your cleanser. I prefer to attack wipe at it with the cloth first and then cleanse my face with the normal routine (which is kinda ironic because The Regimen under Acne.org doesn't recommend touching your skin too much due to irritation)

Oh but remember not to breathe when you apply because it freaking stinks. I still cough and gasp and run around sucking fresh air every night I apply it ahaha!

Ingredients
As you can see there's Acetone in it as the main ingredient which is also what we use to rub off nail polish. However, people who are "for" this product claims that it is a different Acetone which is not harsh on skin and only used to make the mask dry speedily. Sure enough, that's what I smell every night when I apply. I don't like the fact that they use fragrance in this product though, because it's supposingly bad.

Instructions
Another pros of this product is that you can use it over any product and any regimen that you're currently using, as it is a breathable mask, meaning that it'll make your products more effective while at the same time improving your skin. Good anot?

Pros:
-Works!
-lightens scars
-smoothens skin
-partners with any other product/regimen that you use
-can use for quite some time (already 5 weeks, I think it can last up to 2 months)

Cons:
-stinks
-expensive (around RM300 I think, not sure about that)
-hard to get (comment or FB message me if you want it, I'll ask my uncle)
-little pieces stick to your hair after you wash it off (just me being petty)
-Uses fragrance

SO? Do you think that it's good? I think for a lot of us, price is a big deal and this product IS a little of the expensive side. However, don't just listen to me; go and research about it and then only decide whether you need this product.

My concern is only with acne scars though, I have read some reviews claiming that it works on wrinkles as well, so it's anti-aging apparently too.

That's it, folks!
Cheers :)
