Merry day at Paradigm!

currently in the throes of excitement cuz Charis (sistah) is featured on Resort World Genting's website! She's one of the special features for her blog post covering the Oriental Cuisine event =)

so anyways this post is about the day that i spent at Paradigm on Monday, i blogged about the screening of Sadako afterwards that day here! We went to Paradigm at about 12.30 and stayed there for lunch, movies, and a short shopping spree <3

her f*ck yea face! i just realized hahaha
look alike huh?

So lunch was at Pasta Zanmai, Phui Loo realized that ordering the sets are much more worth it and each set comes with 2 dishes so, yeap i would say that it's ideal for those who want to try alot of dishes but don't want to splurge! All 5 of us left feeling full =)

clearer picture of the last post's version!

Pearly whites all gleaming =D

Afterwards we went to the movies (Wimpy Kid-funny and quite nice, you should go watch too) and then shopping at Sephora! sigh everytime i go there my wishlist gets longer =(

Current obsession : the Kose mask set and the Clarisonic Cleanser Mia

Kose's mask set! Damn cheap and it's only
sold at Paradigm Mall

awesome new cleanser that apparently has magical properties,
can't wait to buy it <3 <3
Anyways i wont be blogging the next few days; heading to Fraiser's Hill and then celebrating my birthday!!! *giddy with happiness

going for a new au naturel style Xp
(no make up at all!)

CHEERS! =)

p.s. i know this sounds awfully contradicting, but i get depressed some before my birthdays, maybe cuz of all the planning? anyone gets that too? (wanting to be normal *anxious)

SADAKO! in threeeeeee D

coming to get you!
dang, dang, dang, DANG! Scary movie on the prowl! once you watch this movie, you might NEVER think the same of your computer or cellphone screen again Xp

apparently in Japan they are so hung up about promoting this movie that the production came up with this idea of a "real" Sadako crawling the streets of Tokyo *the horror!*

lorry carting the "sadako"-imagine it at Bukit Bintang, eh?

So on Monday i spent the whole day in Paradigm Mall spending the day with my girls and after that the Sadako 3D movie screening with Mokky! She's now officially one of my blogger buddies already, we're like THIS now:

we're best buds yo!
hahaha! so for once cuz Mokky was excited about this movie (she's a horror movie junkie *horror of horrors) so we went to line up early and selca some =)

see she got the "im so excited oh-em-gee" face

okay so let's talk about the movie: no doubt there are a few scenes that are awfully scary like the part where the hand comes out of nowhere (beware the 3D) and grabs the poor unsuspecting victims, after awhile you get kinda bored of the hand and the long long hair awkwardly climbing out of the computer. i mean, there were even a few scenes where the most of us laughed out loud cuz the scary parts became funny =/

However, there IS a suspense and the story unfolding inch by inch lah so at the end you'll be like nodding and saying "OOOOHHH, so that's how it came to be".

All in all, not quite worth the money you invest =/ unless it's RM6 and you're looking for a cheapie horror film to get a few cheapie scares!

pic of us girls! so long since we took a shot of the 5 of us
CHEERS!

Family gathering at Tropicana Golf Club

Hahaha practically my first blog post on the go! :) heading back to college now, hehe

This was one of the rare few times that everybody had time to be there, but still it was lacking Justin the cousin and Kevin my brother (he came afterwards when almost everybody was gone, boooooo)

Some pictures I took that day and some I stole from Michelle Ee ee's fb are right at the bottommmm *wink

Why I don't like blogger on the go is cuz they dont let us have pics and words together, all must be separated -.-"

Anyways, have a great day and
Cheers!

P.s. heading for 3D ghost movie screening tonight T.T (called sagoja or sum-what?)

Bombazzling Bubbles & Bites!

The urge to write this post all with BBB's are very tempting. haha! anyhow i realized that i have slowly been abandoning my blog already, sigh! Procrastinating because im too impatient to wait for the pictures to load x.x

NOOOOOO i don't want to turn into those who update once every two weeeeeeekssssssss

Y U NO update more often?!
So here i am gritting my teeth  all refreshed ready to blog about Bubbles & Bites, the new sensation up at Resorts World Genting!

Well the idea behind this new F & B outlet is to encourage youngsters  (like me and you!) to frequent more food outlets so as according to theme, this makan place is totally equipped like a pub @.@
Even the music played is K-pop genre, the only thing differentiating it from a club is that the music is not played bombastically-ear-splittingly loud Xp

After we were seated we were told some _____ news (fill in the blanks for how you would have interpreted the news), we were allowed to choose any one of the beverages in the fridge as our drinks! i know Yen Ling was damn esctatic about it, she practically flew to the fridge and started doing a weird boogey dance there.
meeeeeee, i suck at drinking -.-

see! even the glasses are stored at the fridge
There were plenty of drinks for everybody, even the non-drinkers-Miniature bottles of wine, juices, alcoholic sodas, soft drinks (like Coke!) and beers (yeap, even Rootbeers). According to B & B, all these beverages are from all around the world so don't be surprised to find plenty of brands you do not recognize here, we certainly were!
me and my *sigh* Apple Berry Juice

a small compilation of our drinks! see the Henkell?
Alcoholic Yen Ling's
After that we went through their cute menu! it is only a piece of envelope like parchment, quite simple and i remember Michelle sitting opposite me asking what if their menu got wet Xp she think banyak far!

Cute!
so next for the foooooooood, get ready to be wowed! =)
For the appetizers:

Peri-peri Chicken Wings (RM 16)
reminds you of Nando's, eh? that was the first thing i thought after reading "Peri-peri", hahaha! i loooooved the chicken wings (ate Yen Ling's too) but not so much the peri sauce cuz even a little bit made me want to spin my head round and spit fire balls x.x
Caesar's salad (RM 15)
Nothing much to shout about, normal salad lah. However the price range for this outlet is pretty much okay as the food rarely exceeded RM30.

For the mains:
They are mostly pastas and pizzas cuz it's B & B's specialty! Note that ingredients are all fresh as the outlet is pretty much commited to serving food, FRESH.
Loose Pasta Frittata (RM 21)
Al Dente Spaghetti (RM 19)

Mac n Cheese! (RM15)
Well amongst all the pastas above i'd pick the Mac n Cheese as my favourite, although the portion is a little bit small (i have a stomach of a wolf!)--everyone sampled abit and it was gone like the wind, maybe it was too awesome? PLUS it's cheap. The pasta frittata was okay, i liked the ham which was one of the toppings, quite generous with the toppings i think. But for the Spaghetti it's quite...tasteless, so you might not want to bother with it.

Braised Lamb Shank with Cous Cous (RM 23)
The meat was so tender and flavorful that it was gone in minutes. Nuff said.

The Isle of Capri pizza! (RM 21)
I'd take Domino's over this pizza anyday. On the other hand it's rather healthy-like cuz there's less oil and i think thin crust lovers would like this, crunchiness much!

Lastly, Lam Lee Burger (RM 20)
According to Bubbles & Bites it's their signature dish! Well it looked nice (i didn't get a bite T_T) but i'd say that it's very very filling cuz the portion is huge - look at all the fries plus the burger had a whopping amount of fillings! Cheese, patty, veggies, and slurping ketchup sauce..mmmm!

As for the dessert i'll introduce B & B's signature Tiramisu!

Tiramisuuuuu <3 love the decoration of purple Candy Floss
slurping the Strawberry Margarita like air cuz it's so sweet!
btw i think Yen Ling has a love of photobombing =/

After chomping and shoving food down, we were introduced to the next phase of B & B - the upstairsssss!
Throughout our meal we were already wondering curiously where the steps went to (Ethan already ran off and investigated himself firsthand Xp).

SO the upstairsssss is a place for patrons to hang out and chill after or before their meals. Only appetizers are allowed up here! And i was asking Chloe whether they clubbed upstairs because it looked perfect for clubbing, really!

heading to THE upstairsssss

ready to see how it looks like???? Dang, dang, dang danggggg.....

Comfy sofas, cool glass tables, bright purple lights (everything is purple here) and best of all, waiters already popping the Champagne for us =D

popping the Bottega Pink Gold
the other wine served was Bottega Petalo Amore, but i prefer the pink Gold cuz it's sweeter and smoother (speaking like a wine expert)

Boon Boon (drunkard), moi, YL(alcoholic)

how to make mooncakes

waaaaayyyy long overdue Xp
anyhow, this is how you make mooncakes according to Chef Gan's (of Resort World Genting) own not-so-"secret"-anymore recipe *wink*

These are what you need:

750g of flour
600g of sugar syrup
150g of oil
a little bit of alkaline water
-makes about 50 mooncake skins-
(may be mistakes as i commited these to my flaky memory, i would highly recommend that you go with the flow and stop when you feel is enough Xp)

wide array of ingredients and tools
firstly, pour the sugar into the flour

looks like a huge egg =D

next, dig a hole in the middle of the "egg" and add in the oil

mix!
Add in the water and mix until it is a little bit sticky but soft
leave it overnight and basically this is what you get
flattening the dough into a perfectly round shape
adding the lotus paste filling into the skin!
it's larger than the skin itself so stretch it abit to wrap it around into a ball

the traditional mould! authentically cute right?
okay *ahem* anyways you dust it lightly with some flour
(this is to ensure that your mooncake comes out easily)
pop the yet-to-be mooncake dough in
and voila! an awesome mooncake pops out
(the technique is to hit the mould left and right once or twice first then
BAM the mooncake out)

Below are the pictures of Mokky, me, and Yen Ling separately crafting our own mooncakes, everybody was so eager to show that theirs will be the "bestest" or "beautifullest"....

the magical moment when Mokky's popped out Xp

stuff it in! stuff it ALL in!

i'll huff and i'll puff and a perfect ball will form

of course, i won! mine was the perfect-est =DDD
Stole some Instagram pictures (yea yea yea i'm a plagiarizer):

before they go into the oven
(everyone added some "originality" to the mooncakesto mark theirs)
mine!

CHEERS!
p.s   find me if there's any problem with the recipe! =)
