Perfect Romantic Escape

I looooove traveling. Love the hotels, love the plane rides, love the anonymousity of being somewhere no one knows you.
as perfect as all this sounds, traveling needs money -.-

y u no more moneyyyy

However, thanks to NuffnangGenting Evangelist, I stand to win a chance to go to Langkawi!
Details are here. Just answer a question and a freetrip could be YOURS.

“if you could go wherever you want, where would you go and why did you choose that as the perfect destination for you and your partner?”

well, where would YOU go? for me, it is the city of Love - Rome, Italy, of course.

(apparently there is an argument about whether Rome or Paris is the legitimate city of love..what do you think?)

but then according to Google Italy is the country of love and Romance, so a hands-down-win tooooo ROME, ITALY!

not just to walk about and explore though, mind you. to a specific place...

the Ponte Milvio.
bridge of love, aptly named, no?

To hang a padlock.
(no i assure you i am NOT crazy, have not gone out of my mind, am not taking any anti psychotic drugs, neither do i need any.)

Along the bridge there hangs padlocks. thousands and thousands of them. hung around the lamp post orginally, now the padlocks hand around everything along the bridge.
all padlocks hung nicely and in order, haha~

too many padlocks!
the lamp post leaned
sideways
inscribed with names too !

"Why?", you may say.

well, this ritual started from the famous book "i want you" by Feredico Moccia-he invented this ritual where couples lock the padlock to the lamp post, then turns and throws the key into the river, symbolizing eternal love and that they will always be together no matter what.
Romantic, eh??

imagine..
the rushing sounds of the river

the swooshing breeze against your face

your lover's warm hands held tight

and the "clang" sound it makes when the padlock clicks

lastly, throwing the key into the river

in lonely planets this ritual is ranked #549 of 979 things to do in Rome!
see how attractive it is?

Eternal love. i want that. and it will be mine (positive thoughts!)
so will this trip to Langkawi =)

me and DUDE
CHEERS!
